Xi'an
is the capital city of Shaanxi province. This is a city that fires
your imagination. As a city with a history of 3,100 years and served
as the political, economic and cultural enter for 12 Chinese dynasties,
Xi'an bears testament to the splendours of the evolvement of the
Chinese civilization. Scattered across an area of 1,0108 square
kilometres are thousands of fascinating ancient monuments, which

Xi'an, on par with Rome, Cairo and Athens, is recognised as one
of the four ancient capitals in the world. Xi'an, home to a population
of 6.95 million is centrally located in the Guanzhong Plain that
stretches through the middle of Shaanxi Province in the northwestern
China. Bordering on the Yellow River on the east side and surrounded
by mountains on three other sides, this vast expanse of fertile
land is crisscrossed with rivers and streams and blessed with a
pleasant climate.
