For visitor (non-tourist), business, work or student visa, in addition to the abovementioned documents, the following are required:

ii. For visitor or business visas, an invitation letter/fax from the Chinese government or from a government-authorised Chinese company stipulating multiple entry is necessary.

iii. For student visa, a visa application form for international students (JW-202) issued by the State Education Commission of China and a notification of admission from the receiving college with the seal of the Commission.

iv. For long-term work visa, a letter of invitation from the relevant Chinese authorities or Chinese companies with authorization from the authorities and a communication from the sending party.

v. For government officials and members of missions of the countries which have diplomatic relations with China or staff members of the United Nations travelling to China for official business or accreditation there, an official note from the government or the United Nations.

vi. For staff members of United Nations, a valid national passport or a valid United Nationals Liasisse-passer.

vii. For students and those on business whose stay in China exceeds six months, a notarised health certificate.
